Join the Physiosouth Team

We are a dynamic and experienced team of physiotherapy professionals, leaders in the field of physiotherapy as well as competitive athletes. We use our strengths across our different areas of expertise to improve client outcomes. We believe in a continuum of care from early management to complete rehabilitation and return to function.

We are one of the largest providers of private physiotherapy in the South Island. With multiple branches throughout Canterbury, we operate in community clinics within or near medical centers or in large modern gyms used for exercise and rehabilitation.

New Graduate Programme

We love to introduce our new graduates to their working life as a physio in private practice and take pride in helping to shape their professional careers.

Our new graduates are mentored for two years by one of the practising clinical directors of Physiosouth and are provided with opportunities to work closely with a range of Allied Health providers including hand therapists, sports doctors, podiatrists, chiropractors, and some of Christchurch’s leading surgeons. New graduates are encouraged to work with sports teams and we have a medic training program.

All new graduates get a chance to work at Sports Clinic, our flagship multi-disciplinary clinic as part of the Saturday roster. We have a structured monthly education programme and graduates also participate in monthly interdisciplinary clinical meetings, offering broad exposure to the wider Physiosouth team and to our clinical partners and their various areas of expertise.

To apply for our graduate programme, please email your CV to our Operations Manager Mike Ringdahl at mike@physiosouth.co.nz

Experienced Physios

For experienced physios, we offer a range of treatment pathways, allowing you to select the best option for each individual to maximise your patients’ outcomes.  We have options for full and part-time work, including flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.

All of our physiotherapists participate in monthly interdisciplinary clinical meetings, ensuring interesting and relevant CPD as well as the opportunity to present and educate others in your areas of speciality.

We have worked with a number of staff who have joined us from the UK and Canada, and we’re confident in our ability to help you transition from working in the UK or Canadian system, to the NZ health system.

Click here to find out more about the differences between how patients access physiotherapy treatment in the UK’s NHS vs the ACC system in NZ.

You will need your Physio NZ registration from the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand as the first step of this process.

We have clear career options and a variety of remuneration models for motivated physios, including support for further postgraduate qualifications, and opportunities to lead and mentor other clinicians.
